UFC fight night start times: prelims, main card and when the headliner walks out
By the MethStreams editors · Published
The most common question on any fight night is simple: when does the main event actually start? The honest answer is that nobody knows to the minute, but you can get close once you understand how a card is built. This guide covers that, and how our UFC and MMA page lists each event.
The shape of a card
A UFC event has two halves. The preliminary card comes first, with the less prominent fights. The main card follows, building up to the main event at the very end. On a full card, the time from the first preliminary fight to the main event can be five or six hours.
The UFC runs two kinds of events. Numbered events carry the biggest names and usually the title fights. Fight Nights fill most other weekends with one headline fight. Many Fight Nights take place in Las Vegas, at the Meta APEX.
Why the main event moves
Each fight has a set number of rounds, but most do not go the full distance. A night full of quick finishes moves everything forward, and a run of fights that go to the judges pushes everything back. So the headliner may begin up to an hour away from the rough estimate, in either direction.
Because of this, the time on our listing is when the event starts, shown in the time zone set on your device. For the headliner, plan on a few hours after that, and keep an eye on the results as the night goes on.
Where it streams in the US
In the US, UFC events are listed on Paramount+. If you would rather use the official service, that is where to look. Smaller promotions such as the PFL and ONE Championship have their own TV partners, which differ by country, so their own websites are the place to look.
How the MethStreams page works
The UFC and MMA page shows each UFC event plus any other MMA card our sources carry, for yesterday through tomorrow. Pro wrestling shows are on the same page, each labelled as wrestling, so you can skip them easily.
Some events get a single listing for the whole night. Others get two listings, one for the prelims and one for the main card, each with its own start time. Either way, each event page has as many as three links, most reliable first, and the same links usually work all night.
Events abroad
When a card is held in Europe, the Middle East or Asia, it runs in the local evening there, which means a morning or afternoon start across the Americas. Since every time on MethStreams is shown in the time zone set on your device, a daytime card is easy to spot.
If the stream stalls mid-fight
- Jump to another link straight away rather than waiting for the buffer.
- Reload the player if the picture freezes but the sound keeps going.
- If a player stays blank, try another VPN location or pause the VPN while that tab is open.
Boxing has its own boxing page, and our ring walk guide covers how boxing nights differ.
Quick answers
Where do UFC events stream in the US?
In the US, UFC events are listed on Paramount+. The service is the same for numbered events and Fight Nights.
What time does the main event begin?
It comes at the end of the main card, usually some hours after the first preliminary fight. The exact time depends on how fast the earlier bouts finish.
Do I need a new link for the main card?
Usually not. When an event has one listing on MethStreams, the same links cover the whole night.
